Talent attractionBe the one they choose.

ByIntent is an independent UK consultancy for employer value proposition (EVP) and talent attraction. The right people have options. ByIntent helps you define what makes working for you different, prove it and say it the same way everywhere, so the people you want choose you over the alternatives.

The problem

Good people are looking. Not all of them find you.

Most organisations have a reason people should join. Few have written it down, tested it against reality or made sure everyone tells the same story.

  • The promise does not match what candidates expect.

Your careers page says one thing. What people hear from current and former employees says another.

  • Your story changes depending on where people see it.

The job advert, the careers site, social channels and the interview each describe a slightly different employer.

  • Good candidates drop out before they join.

Slow replies, unclear steps and long silences lose people you wanted, often without you knowing why.

  • Offers are sold on salary alone.

Hiring managers close the deal without the words or the confidence to explain what makes the role worth taking.

The work

Four areas. One brief.

Every talent attraction project looks at the same four areas, weighted to where your gap is widest.

  • Proposition and perception

Comparing what you say about working for you with what employees, candidates and leavers actually expect and find.

  • Careers presence and content

Reviewing your careers site, job adverts and social channels so the story is the same wherever people meet it.

  • Candidate journey

Following the route from first look to first day to find where good people lose interest or drop out.

  • Hiring managers and offers

Helping the people who interview and make offers describe the role and the organisation honestly and well.

Deliverables

What you get.

  • A defined employee value proposition, written in plain language
  • The evidence behind it, drawn from your own people and candidates
  • A review of your careers presence and candidate journey, with the gaps marked
  • Guidance for hiring managers on telling the story at interview and offer
  • An action plan to bring the proposition to life
How it connects

Four services. One system.

Talent attraction is where the promise starts, but it only holds if the rest of the business keeps it. Employee experience makes sure new joiners find what they were promised. Culture shapes the behaviours behind the proposition. Customer experience is where the people you hire show customers what the brand stands for.

Questions

Talent attraction, answered.

What is an employee value proposition?

It is a clear statement of what your organisation offers people and what it asks of them in return. A good one is specific to you, recognisable to your current employees and useful when you write a job advert or make an offer.

How is an EVP different from employer branding?

The EVP is the substance, what is actually true about working for you. Employer branding is how you express it. ByIntent starts with the substance, because a campaign built on a promise people do not recognise raises expectations it cannot meet.

Is it worth doing if we only hire a few people a year?

Often, yes. When you hire rarely, each role counts for more. The proposition also shapes how your current employees describe you to people they know.

How long does an EVP project take?

It depends on your size, how many roles and locations are involved and how much research already exists. Scope and timings are agreed with you before any work starts.
